The most important thing an agent needs is a good broker.
MEET THE BROKERS:
Sarah Santa Ana was born in Alexandria VA in 1977. Giovanni Santa Ana was born in the
Philippines in 1977. They met 1997 and decided to share their lives together in 1999. They always knew they wanted to have 4 children and when Sarah turned 20 began looking for ways to be able to work from home so she can have the best of both worlds. This pushed her into real estate. She was pregnant with her first daughter when she got her license. This gave her the freedom to work from home and also an income. Through poor choices she ended up with a series of not so great brokers. They failed to train, having meetings or help in any capacity. After going through several brokers and not finding what she was looking for she made the choice to go the cheapest broker. Three years later she realized this had been the worst decision she ever made. After working super hard to find a home for a buyer, she submitted an offers for her buyer and the listing agents called her and told her she didn’t want to recommend the seller accept the offer because of what company she worked for. The company has such a bad reputation and the agents are completely uneducated. Sarah was speechless. She thanked the agent for calling her and told her why she was different. The listing agent reluctantly accepted the offer. She called her broker immediately and told him that he needs to drive over to that listing agent office and tell them they are violating anti trust laws and he would sue them if they continued. He refused to go. She begged him to at least be nice and ask them not to do this anymore. He refused. Two weeks later, the same situation happened again although this time it was with a different listing company altogether. TWO large real estate Companies were boycotting the “cheap” company. She than began to wonder how many other companies out there, just threw her offers in the trash without telling the sellers, or possibly presenting the offer but convincing the seller not to work with her. She found out she had been working harder for no reason. She found out that instead of helping her clients… she was hurting them. She immediately changed companies to the “best reputation” in the area. She worked with the best in the area for 1 year. No education was provided, no meetings, no help, no resources…. there has to be a better way. She began researching Franchises. The more research she did, the more rules and inflexibilty she saw. She would be forced to use their training materials, which was no good at all! The technology was outdated. The commission rates were not flexible, the plans for the agents were not flexible, the reports and meetings she was required to have daily were overwhelming. No wonder brokers do not have time for their agents!! She realized that the franchise would help her (save time) but not the agents at all, yet they were forced to pay for it. She knew there had to be a way to keep the agents cost down to a minimum but yet still provide them the resources and support they needed to be successful. Instead of attending profitability meetings, she can spend her time hands on helping the agents build their business. It was then she knew she had to become an independant. This launched her into starting her own company in 2006. Shortly After Giovanni Santa Ana got his license so he can step in and help. They had been giving their buyers and sellers a free professional move anyways so the company Move4Free Realty was born. Becoming independent was so much more work. Sarah and Giovanni worked for years on the perfect training materials (to this day they are constantly revised). They wanted training material that actually boosts the agents business. They wanted to help agents grow their business. They worked on developing office policies, systems, resources. It took years of long hours. They wanted to have an amazing reputation as well. IN 2009 Sarah got her instructors license, a few years later Giovanni got his as well. In order to build a great reputation Sarah teaches agents all over the DC, MD and VA area and has developed a very positive reputation. She is a graduate of Virginia Leadership academy and volunteers her time at the local and state association to network. When agents in the area see an offer coming in from Move4Free Realty, they know that means the agent on the other end is a knowledgeable agent. When agents pull up to our listings, they know they will get a team player ready to roll up our sleeves and make every transaction smooth. We are living the dream of building successful agents.
